Photosilk UPL promises dramatic improvement for the visible signs of aging, photo-damage, large freckles (lentigines), numerous superficial blood vessels (telangiectasias) abnormal redness such as rosacea , poikiloderma (red-brown discolouration affecting the neck) and even such simple corrections as abnormal flushing and enlarged pores.
How does it work?
Photosilk uses an Ultra Pulse Light, which is a xeon light from which the harmful UV light has been blocked or filtered out. The light flashes are transformed into energy and is used to rejuvenate new tissues – eg. collagen, elastin, etc. which renews the old layers of cell growth. The collogen shrinks and tightens thereby diminishing open pores, wrinkles and fine lines. The light is also attracted to melanin, to treat pigmentation and haemoglobin, for broken capillaries and rosacea.
Photosilk UPL – Progressively Permanent Hair Reduction
What is Photosilk?
Photosilk is a new generation Ultra Pulse Light (UPL) system that uses light energy for hair reduction as well as photo rejuvenation. It is a non-invasive treatment (meaning it does not break the skin).
The UPL is absorbed by the melanin in the hair. The light energy transforms into heat energy, which destroys the follicles and lesions.
Most hair removed with Photosilk will have a 2 to 3 month delayed regrowth, which eventually thins out and then stops growing due to the continued destruction inside the follicles. The results are individual but most clients have been very satisfied with their hair reduction process.
How many treatments are necessary?
Results have proved that generally at least 6 to 8 treatments are needed. These should be done in a series over a 6 to 12 month period.
